Hello there and happy new year! 2016 has come to an end and it’s been awfully quiet here on the Curated Theory. I got off to a good start, but that quickly dwindled. With a week off work for Christmas, I’ve had some time to think about blogging and whether I want to hit the refresh button at all. When we’re not at work, Jack and I put our time into our YouTube channel, which leaves little time for everything else. But I’m not giving up on this just yet.
I’ve always loved blogging, it’s all my favourite things – writing, photography, aesthetics – rolled into one. I’ve also always loved producing online content, I love the creative process and I love looking back at it once it’s done. The only thing that really stands in the way (apart from time) is perfectionism.
If you want to produce regular content and you’re time-poor, perfectionism can be your biggest enemy. You could always tweak the colours of a photo here and change a word in a sentence there. But sometimes, you just have to let go. The world won’t end if you use the same word twice in the same post. Or so I have to tell myself!
So here’s to a fresh start. I will be posting weekly – mid-week, every week (a new year’s resolution?). Hold me to it, please!
I hope you have a most wonderful 2017.
