Three ways to wear a turtleneck

I remember a definite (probably teenage) phase in my life when I thought the idea of wearing a turtleneck a total absurdity. Turtlenecks fell in the same category of “over my dead body” items as giant plastic hoop earrings and crocs. And yet, and yet… Here I am doing a post on how to style a (beautiful, camel, merino wool) turtle neck three ways. Because versatility is great for sustainability. And because you should never say never. Also – I’m not going to lie, I’ve been sat on this post for a while, but I’m sure the pictures are seasonal somewhere in the world!

For work, I tuck the jumper into a sensible-lengthed (if not sensible-materialed) leather skirt, or a pair of high-waisted trousers, and throw a blazer over the top for extra sass (formality?) when needed.

Pairing the jumper with some kicks allows you to seriously maximise on being snuggled up in merino wool up to your chin. These loose-fit office pants add to the comfort vibe, believe it or not.

If you thought a bin bag-sized turtleneck couldn’t be sexy, you were right. But stick a slinky slip dress underneath and pair it with some knee-high boots and you’re halfway there. And halfway to sexy is all you ever really want to be, you know, to keep the sleezy ones at a distance.
I hope you enjoyed the first instalment of this “3 ways” (not threeways) series, where I share three ways to style an item of clothing for three different occasions – coz, you know, versatility is key.
